Dear Professor,

I want to thank the Professor, who have spent reading and additional commenting on my manuscript. My following answers may not yet meet Professor's expectations. I hope the Professor will consider, support, and acceptance.

Professor commented: "While the potential scientific impact of the manuscript can be debatable (still I think it is low), its relationship to the EXAFS method is confusing.

The authors insist on the EXAFS method in the Title, Introduction and Conclusions, while no comparison with any EXAFS data is provided. In the present form, the manuscript looks unfinished, and the usefulness of the calculated Morse potential parameters to the EXAFS analysis is not demonstrated".

Discussion: Dear Professor, to more clarify the research objectives of the article, I would like to explain further as follows:

1. In this paper, we do not study and calculate pure the EXAFS spectrum, so no comparison with any EXAFS data is provided.

2. The logic of the research contents:

(1) At present, we usually use the XAFS method to calculate thermodynamic parameters and cumulants to determine materials structure. There are many models to calculate thermodynamic parameters in XAFS.

(2) In this work, we have applied the Anharmonic Correlation Einstein Model (ACEM) in EXAFS to calculate the mean square displacement u2, mean square relative displacement or XAFS Debye-Waller factor σ2 and the correlation function CR (described in figures 5, 6, 7). They are essential parameters in XAFS spectra to determine the material structure.

(3) Morse potentials are often used in the ACEM for calculations, and parameters of Morse potentials are usually extracted from experiments. However, experimental data are not available in many cases, so we study this theory to infer Morse potential parameters by theory.

(4) The theoretical calculation of Morse potential is proposed to contribute to enriching the research on issues related to the XAFS spectrum. The usefulness of Morse potential (determined by theory method) and the theoretical method to find it will undoubtedly be much discussion because this is still a new issue.

We hope the Professor accepts our explanation.

Sincerely thank you, Professor.

Ví dụ 2: Với Tạp chí Physica Scripta

- Trả lời phản biện 1:

Dear Professor,

Firstly, I want to thank the Professor, who has spent reading and commenting on my manuscript. I hoped the Professor support and accepted my revised manuscript.

I want to answer the Professor's recommendations below.

1. Please use the following notation to describe your material i.e. CuxAg1-x instead of CuxAgy

2. The title should be simplified by removing (x=72,50;y=28,50).

Thanks, Professor. Use CuxAg1-x instead of CuxAgy is a suitable recommendation. I agree to replace and has rewritten the title more simplified (deleted x=72,50; y=28,50 in the title).

3. The introduction should be rewritten in order to explain why you choose to do this investigation. You start immediately with an equation. But the reader does not know why you decided to study CuAg.

Yes, I have rewritten the introduction according to the comments of the Professor.

4. I think that the bibliography could be improved.

Thanks, Professor, I have reviewed the references, and I used them according to APA format, so I would like to keep them the basic as in the manuscript. However, I had some minor corrections.

Sincerely thank you, Professor.

- Trả lời phản biện 2:

Dear Professor,

I would like to thank the Professor, who has spent the time reading and comment on my manuscript. My following answers and discussions may not yet meet the Professor's expectations, but I hope the Professor will consider, support, and accept my works.

1. English is rather poor. Needs to be significantly improved.

I am sorry about my English. I tried so hard and also used AIP author services for language editing of the manuscript, please.

2. “Complex problems due to many-particle effects”: such as?

The meaning of the sentence within the scope of the article: for a many-particle system, solving equations with three-dimensional matrices is very complicated.

I rewrote the sentence in the article: "Complicated calculations due to the many-particle effect..."

3. “The functions σ2 and u2 are closely related”: detail why.

Dear Professor, in XAFS theory, the Debye-Waller factor or mean square relative displacement of the atom pairs (σ2) contain the mean square displacement (u2) and function of displacement-displacement correlation CR, therefore “the functions σ2 and u2 are closely related”.

Expression: σ2 = 2u2 – CR.

4. “and we take the atomic mass to be at the center of the pair of absorbing and scattering atoms.”: explain why and what would happened is this was not done.

Yes, our sentence is not clear. We rewrite it as follow: "mass of two atoms can be considered as of an atom with mass μ=M1M2/(M1+M2) and located at the midpoint of the distance two atoms”.

5. “The data in Tables 1 and 2 show that the theoretical calculations agree with the experimental measurement”: some discrepancies are seen. Why? Please discuss and explain.

Dear Professor,

- In the study of XAFS spectra, the error between theory and experiment is generally accepted in the range of 8%-12%.

- In Table 1, the error of Cu in the range 2.8%-3.4%, and of Ag is 1.14%-2.1%, these errors are tiny.

- In Table 2, the error of Cu in the range 2.8% -14.6% (for kA3eff of Cu) and Ag in range 4.5%-13.4% (for kD3eff of Ag).

Here kA3eff  and kD3eff are the cubic parameters characteristic for the anharmonic effects and appearing at high temperatures, so the error is usually larger than the effective constants (first order - kAeff and kDeff).

Moreover, for simplicity, our calculation model has ignored the phonon dispersion, thus contributing to making the error larger.

However, this errors is not too large, with discrepancies of about 1,4%-2,6% in comparison to the normal error, so it is accepted in the theoretical physics calculation.

6. “meaning that the alloy Cu 50 Ag 50 is impossible in practice in the range”: what do you mean by being impossible here?

That means the Cu50Ag50 alloy does not exist as a material with a crystalline structure in this ratio.

7. “The crystal lattice of Cu 50 Ag 50 alloy exhibited abnormal disorder at temperatures of the range 140 –180 K, and the pressure is less than 14GPa ”: what this reported previously in the literature?

Kraut and Stern discovered this result in 2000, Cu-Ag alloys do not form an ordered phase at a molar composition of 1:1.

To date, there have been no reports clearly define the anomaly of Cu50Ag50 alloy (1:1 ratio) at what temperature and pressure, so our findings are a new result and contribute to study further of the results of Kraut and Stern's experiments.

I hope the Professor accepts the above explanations.

Sincerely thank you, Professor.
